The song was produced by Knowles, James Scheffer, Wayne Wilkins, and Rico Love for her third studio album I Am ... Sasha Fierce. Sweet Dreams was released on 2 June 2009 as the sixth single from the album I Am ... Sasha Fierce in the USA. In Germany the song was released on 13 July 2009 as a digital download and on 17 July 2009 as a CD single and was there. According to If I Were a Boy and Halo the third CD release of the album
Sweet Dreams is a pop song with electronic influences. This is reflected especially in the use of synthesizer, a keyboard and snare drums resist. Background
Originally called the song Beautiful Nightmare and was one of the first songs that were written for Knowles ' album I Am ... Sasha Fierce.
