Sweet Thursday

Blissful Thursday is the German title of 1954 published novel Sweet Thursday by John Steinbeck. It builds on the more famous novel, The Cannery and sets the stories of Doc ( Ed Ricketts ) and the inhabitants of Cannery Row Monterey continued to the time immediately after the Second World War. Less episodic as The Cannery he tells essentially a romance with obstacles between Doc and Suzy, a new resident of the street.

According to John Steinbeck is the " blissful Thursday" ( Sweet Thursday ) the day after the " lousy Wednesday" ( Lousy Tuesday ).

The plot of both novels formed the basis for the film adaptation of The Cannery.

Sweet Thursday was first time in 1956 and translated by Harry Kahn entitled blissful Thursday into German.
