Sweetwater is a city in Miami -Dade County in the U.S. state of Florida with 13,499 inhabitants ( 2010).

Sweetwater is located about 5 km west of Miami.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 13,499 inhabitants distributed to 4,195 households. The population density was 6428.1 inh. / Km ². 92.4 % of the population were white, 1.8% African American, 0.2% Native American and 0.5 % Asian Americans. 3.0% were members of other ethnic groups and 2.1% in different ethnic groups. 95.5% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 38.8 % of all households lived in 38.9 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 80.2 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 3.27 persons and the average family size is 3.43 people.
