Åšwidermajer

Świdermajer is a Polish architectural style, which developed in the late 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century was popular. He was born in Mazovia along the railroad that connected Warsaw with Otwock. The term is almost exclusively applied to villas in wood construction, which was created especially for the middle class. The development of architectural style is Michał Elwiro Andriolli attributed to combined the traditional elements of regional Polish wood construction with elements of style Swiss design, the traditional Russian wooden houses and traditional ornaments of the Podhale region.

The name is a pun Świdermajer and connects with Biedermeier Świder. The latter is a river where a number of villas built in this style.
