Swin Cash

Swintayla Marie Cash ( born September 22, 1979 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, United States) is a professional basketball player. In 2012 she plays for the Chicago Sky in the Women's National Basketball Association.

After winning title during their college time cash was selected by the Detroit Shock in the second place of the draft in the WNBA Draft 2002. In her second WNBA season, she won her first championship with the Shock. More titles followed in 2006 with the Shock, and in 2010 with the Seattle Storm.

Amateur basketball

High School

In her youth, Cash visited the McKeesport Area High School in McKeesport, Pennsylvania and played for their high school basketball team.

College (1998 to 2002)

Cash studied from 1998 to 2002 at the University of Connecticut and completed her studies with a degree in Communication Studies. During this time she also played for the women's basketball team of the University, the Huskies. Total Cash completed four seasons for the Huskies, with which they won the championship of the National Collegiate Athletic Association in 2000 and 2002. When winning the championship 2002 Cash won all games of the season with the Huskies.

Detroit Shock (2002 to 2007)

Swin Cash was pulled from the Detroit Shock in the second place in the WNBA Draft 2002. In the 2003 season they could win for the first time with the Shock WNBA Championship. She was also called up for the first time in the Eastern All-Star team. In the 2006 season they could for the second time with Detroit win the WNBA championship. Since it came at the end of their time in Detroit repeated clashes with the Shock head coach Bill Laimbeer, she was transferred on 19 February 2008 on the Seattle Storm for a draft pick.

Seattle Storm (2008 to 2011)

During her time in Seattle could achieve further success, so she won her third WNBA Championship in 2010. In addition, she was chosen by the fans in the starting lineup of the All- Star Games in 2009 and 2011. In both games, she was voted most valuable player of the All- Star Games. In her last season for the Storm, she was still elected to the WNBA All-Defensive Second Team. On January 2, 2012, she was transferred in exchange for a first-round pick in the WNBA Draft in 2012 and Le'coe Willingham to the Chicago Sky.

Internationally

Cash played during the WNBA season breaks for various clubs in Europe, such as in the season 2003/ 04 for the Russian team VBM SGAU Samara. They also played in the 2008 /09 season for the ZVVZ USK Prague.

Cash brought to the U.S. women's basketball team at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, the gold medal.
