The Swinburne University of Technology is a university in Melbourne in the Australian state of Victoria.

Swinburne University of Technology was founded in 1992, the roots are, however, due to a technical college from 1908. It is named after George Swinburne. At the University today about 16,000 students are enrolled in the pronounced associated Tertiary education ( Technical and Further Education TAFE ) study approximately 23,000 students. At the location of Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus in Kuching, the capital of the state of Sarawak in Malaysia, are students enrolled approximately 1,300 (2007). Pro Vice-Chancellor Helmut Lueckenhausen.
