Swiss National Badminton Championships
Swiss Badminton Championships will be held in the individual disciplines since 1955. However, not all five disciplines, men's doubles, women's singles, women's doubles and mixed doubles were played in the early years. In particular, in the women's disciplines, there were interruptions in the annual competition format. Championships for Juniors will be held since 1977, team championships since 1955.
The most famous winner is Liselotte Blumer. They not only won 16 consecutive titles as Swiss Singles Champion, but they also beat Anette Börjesson in the final of the European Championship 1980.
The four-time individual champion and title holder of the SM 2007 Jeanine Cicognini occurred due to an injury to the SM in 2008 in La Chaux -de-Fonds on, which took place from January 31 to February 3, 2008. 2009 and 2010, however, she was again at the top of the podium.
