Swiss order of precedence
The official place in protocol order of the Swiss Confederation is determined by the protocol rules and the Foreign Department of the Präzedenztabelle. It should be noted that it is not in accordance with these regulations - adopted as circulated - the National President, but the President, the highest office of protocol holds.
The protocol order of officials of the Federal among themselves is determined by the order of their choice, that of the cantonal officials according to the order of the cantons in the federal constitution. Spouses of dignitaries basically have the same rank.
