Swissporarena

The Swissporarena (proper spelling: swissporarena ) is a football stadium in Lucerne. It is located on the site of the former stadium Allmendfeld. The stadium is, inter alia, the new home of football club FC Lucerne. Originally those responsible wanted to play in the spring of 2011 in the arena, which was not possible but due to delays in the construction.

The first championship game in the new Swissporarena was 31 July 2011 against FC Thun ( 0-0). The official opening game of the new stadium took place on 3 September. Opponent was the Hamburger SV. The game ended 2-2.

The capacity is at national sporting events to a maximum of 17,500 spectators. For international sweeps it amounts to 16,500. The Swissporarena will have combined the first Swiss stadium seated and standing capacity ( Stand B ).

In addition to the football stadium for the matches of FC Luzern an indoor pool, a Migros store, a Migros fitness center and a double gymnasium for the University Sports to be built as part of the stadium's construction in and around the Swissporarena. On the south side of the Swissporarena two residential towers (High Two ) were built with 283 rental apartments. The 77 and 88 -meter-high skyscrapers are the tallest habitable building in central Switzerland.
