A network switch is a switch, the at least one pole separates a consumer ( consumables) from the power supply.

Depending on the connected to switching load and type of load, there are different designs. After pressing the power button turns the connected device consumes - in contrast to the standby or standby mode - no power. Network switches and their regular use are an important contribution to energy saving.

If there is no power switch is present on a device, instead, a switchable power strip can be used.
