Switzerland's Land Use Statistics

Switzerland, the Federal Office of Statistics Arealstatistik rises at intervals of 12 years, information on land use and land cover of Switzerland on the basis of aerial photographs of the Federal Office of Topography ( swisstopo ). The land use statistics is carried out in the form of a point sampling on aerial photographs of the Federal Office of Topography. It made ​​100 m in increments of 100 mm × 4.1 million sample points.

The land use statistics is carried out every 12 years since 1979. The statistics produced in the following year the production of aerial photographs and is available no later than two years after the corresponding aerial photography. The aerial photographs of the Federal Office of Topography arise in each six- year cycle ( 1979/85, 1992/97, 2004/ 09).
