SWM (motorcycles)

SWM ( speedy working engine ) was an Italian company that manufactured motorcycles. It was founded by Piero Sironi and existed from 1953 until 1984.

Sporting successes allowed the company to achieve, especially in the motocross and enduro sport. SWM built initially 6-speed engines Sachs, later they moved to Rotax as an engine supplier. The air-cooled two-stroke possessed a valve's inlet control.

In the 70s SWM won the Enduro European Championship six titles. At the International Six Day Trial 1975 equipped with SWM motorcycles team won the silver vase.
