SWV

SWV, also known as Sisters With Voices, is an American R & B girl group.

History

SWV founded in 1990 and published in 1992, their debut album It's About Time. However, the first single taken from the album Right Here could draw little attention. The singles I'm So Into You and Weak were against very successful, to the re-release of the debut single under the name Right Here ( Human Nature Remix). In the United States together five million recordings sold from the album and the singles. The album was triple platinum. The second plate was a remix compilation called The Remixes. From her singles Anything, Tonight's the Night were released ( with Blackstreet ) and You're Always On My Mind.

After four years, the studio album New Beginning in 1996 brought to the market. It was as successful as its predecessor. The album taken from You're The One reached number one on the Billboard R & B / Hip- Hop Charts as the seventh single from the group. Also in New Zealand, Canada and the UK, the album was a success. It received a platinum record for a million records sold.

Already in 1997, the third studio album Release Some Tension has been published. It could not place ten in the U.S. Top itself, but in New Zealand the single Can We had a number one hit.

In 1999, the group split to devote to solo careers. Numerous compilations such as SWV - Greatest Hits (1999), The Best of SWV (2000) and SWV 's Platinum & Gold Collection (2003) turned out to be failures. Except Cheryl " Coko " Clemons, who was involved in the song Men in Black regardless of SWV in 1997, none of the members of SWV achieved a notable solo career. Clemons released two successful albums and worked as a solo artist, among others, Darkchild, Eve, Lil 'Mo and Faith Evans.

After a long break between 1999 and 2005, the group reunited, and began to work with artists such as Bobby Brown and New Edition, Blackstreet or Babyface. At one planned for 2009 album One of the greatest performances after the separation was at the 2008 BET Awards along with Alicia Keys, TLC and En Vogue, where she sang a medley of hits Waterfalls, Teenage Love Affair, Weak and Hold On. The reunion album came out in the end in early 2012 under the name I Missed Us.
