Sydbank

Sydbank A / S is a credit institution established in Aabenraa, Denmark. She has worked both in Denmark and by a branch office in Flensburg in Germany.

History

Sydbank was established in 1970 by the merger of four regional banks südjütländischer:

  • The Nordslesvigske Folke Bank, Aabenraa
  • Gråsten Bank, Gråsten
  • Folke banks for Sundeved As mentioned above, Sønderborg
  • Landmandsbank Tønder, Tønder

The oldest of these four banks, the Tønder Landmandsbank, was founded in 1901.

From the early 1980s Sydbank expanded greatly. It was followed by further mergers and acquisitions: In 1983, the Aarhus Bank Fynske the bank was taken over in 1984. In 1987, parts of the insolvent Copenhagen July 6 banks taken over. In 1990, the merger was followed by the Sparekassen Jutland. With effect from 1 January 1994 Sydbank took over 30 branches in the west of Jutland from the insolvent Varde Bank. Shortly thereafter, in May 1994 Sydbank bought the active banks in Vejle from the insurance company Topdanmark and divided the 40 stores in eastern Jutland also in its branch network a. 2002 Egnsbank Fyn was taken in Odense, 2008, the Bank Trelleborg in Slagelse. In Germany is Sydbank as a branch (according to § 53b of the Banking Act ) operates. In addition to the German headquarters in Flensburg there are still stores in Hamburg, Kiel, Berlin and Wiesbaden.

The first German branch was established in Flensburg in 1984. Just one year later, in 1985, the branch was opened in Hamburg. In 2007, parts of the customer base and the business premises of former bank Companie Nord AG were taken in Kiel and thus established the branch in Kiel sell memory.
