Sydney Leroux

Sydney Rae Leroux (born 7 May 1990 in Surrey, Canada) is an American soccer player. She plays for the Seattle Reign FC and for the U.S. national team.

Life and career

Leroux is the daughter of a Canadian woman who played for the Canadian softball team, and an American father, who played for the Anaheim Angels of Major League Baseball. Leroux began playing football in high school team in the Johnston Heights Secondary School in Surrey. At 14, she took 2004 as the youngest player in the history of the U -20 World Championships for Canada at the U-19 Women's World Championship in Thailand in part. At the age of 15, she starred as the youngest player of the Vancouver Whitecaps in the W- League and moved to the U.S..
