Sydney United 58 FC

The Sydney United Football Club is an Australian football club based in Sydney which was set up in 1957 by Croatian immigrants under the name Sydney Croatia Football Club.

1958 the club played in the then NSW Soccer Football Association ( NSWSFA ) in his first season and lost a single game. After the change in the NSW Soccer Federation they first played in the Third Division and went in 1961 in the Second Division and in 1963 in the First Division. In the years 1964 and 1965 the club was after violent nationalist machinations of fans, the law denied as "Croatia " to compete and therefore played as Sydney Metropolitan Adriatic Football Club.

1977 Sydney won under coach Luka Fabijinic the first championship in the New South Wales Division 1 Two seasons later the club moved to its new stadium Sydney United Sports Centre and a few time later followed with championships in 1982 and 1983 further success. It was often more than 10,000 spectators in the stadium, which is why joining the National Soccer League was demanded. However, the association found it inappropriate to a club with nationalistic club name in the league. The association, however, was still not willing to change his name.

After a complete restructuring of the League Sydney Croatia in 1984 but was allowed to participate under this name. In the very first season saw the League newcomer with a wear six different trainers for a new record. It was followed by many successful years in the highest Australian division, but only one Cup victory in 1987. 1992 named the club and has since been known Sydney United. In the season 1999/2000 was followed by one of the darkest hours in the club's history of Sydney United, because they lost one exception and the coach all players at the newly founded professional club Parramatta Power. Until the dissolution of the National Soccer League, the club has seen no more successful season.

Since the demise of the League Sydney United plays in the New South Wales Premier League. According to a fourth and a third place United in 2006 for the fourth time NSW champion. Under coach Ante Milicic Sydney United in 2009 once again took first place in the table, but lost in the finals to win the championship against Sutherland Sharks FC and Marconi Stallions.
