Sylosis

Sylosis is a British Thrash-/Melodic-Death-Metal-Band from Reading.

History

The band was formed in 2000 by guitarist Josh Middleton. Together with a few friends from his school, the musicians began to jam. After some line-up changes played numerous concerts Sylosis. In 2006 the band signed a contract with the company At the Deep End Records, the EP Casting the Shadows, published in the same year. A year later, the second EP The Supreme Oppressor. The band sent a demo to various major record labels. During a tour of England Sylosis were contacted by Nuclear Blast and contracted. On 24 October 2008 finally released their debut album Conclusion of an Age.

On 20 May 2010 the German Metal Online Magazine Metal1.info announces that the UK modern thrashers SYLOSIS have separated from singer Jamie Graham. " The reason for different personal and musical ideas were called". The song is now taking over Josh Middleton. On 11 March 2011, the second album was released, entitled Edge of the Earth.

Style

The main influences called the band Metallica, Sepultura, Forbidden and Death. In the texts from "Conclusion of an Age" topics such as religion, war and pollution are discussed. In " Edge of the Earth" to describe the lyrics, for example, a completely fictitious isolation of a man by the company or the transience of life. The texts impressed themselves partly by personal experiences, as Josh Middleton.

While the first album still is a mixture of metalcore and thrash metal ( it was, for example more clear vocals used ), the second work contains elements of Melodic Death Metal, which are combined with Thrash Metal - harmonious melodies, lead guitar solos and growling vocals dominate the clean vocals come only occasionally to bear.

The third album " Monolith", it is about a fictional story in which a man tries to save his beloved from the underworld. The idea is how Josh Middleton, entstamme a Greek myth.
