Sylvain Chavanel

Sylvain Chavanel - Albira (* June 30, 1979 in Chatellerault ) is a French professional road bicycle racer. He drives for international cycling teams since 2000.

Among his greatest achievements include six French championship titles, including five in the individual time trial and a road race. Two times he was with Omega Pharma- Quickstep world champion in the team time trial.

Chavanel won the 2008 and 2010 a total of three stages in the Tour de France and was in these years awarded as most aggressive rider of the Tour with the Red shirt number. Through his solo victories on the 2nd and 7th stage of the Tour in 2010 he conquered for one day the yellow jersey of the overall leader.

At a size of 1.82 m Sylvain Chavanel took in 2011, 70 kg on the scales.
