Sylvain Estibal

Sylvain Estibal (born 1967 ) is a French journalist, writer and director. He became famous by the movie The Pig of Gaza ( original title: Le Cochon de Gaza ), the price of the César for best first film was in 2012.

He is the author of several books about the desert. Among them is a novel about the last days in the life of the legendary pilot Bill Lancaster, which was filmed in 2009 with Guillaume Canet and Marion Cotillard in the lead roles.

Since 2007 Estibal works as Head of the Photo Editor for the Latin American division of Agence France-Presse.
