Sylvia Cheeseman

Sylvia Cheeseman ( born May 19, 1929 in Richmond ) is a former British athlete and Olympian.

At the European Championships 1946, she finished fifth in the 200 -meter run and fourth in the British 4 x 100 - meter relay.

At the Summer Olympics in Helsinki in 1952, it reached over 200 meters semi-final and won with the relay bronze medal together with teammates June Foulds, Jean Desforges and Heather Armitage, behind the team from the USA ( Gold ) and the team of Germany (Silver ).

In the British Empire Games in 1950, Sylvia Cheeseman won a silver medal and a bronze medal with English squadrons. The silver medal she won in a 660 - yard relay team, in which each had to walk 220 yards and the other two each 110 yards, the first two runners. The bronze medal as she reached first leg of a 440- yard relay team of three runners. Cheeseman ran 220 yards, Margaret Walker and Dorothy Manley each 110 yards.
