Synadene

Synadene of Byzantium ( † after 1077 ) was Queen of Hungary.

She was born as the daughter of Theodulus Synadenos and was the niece of the Byzantine emperor Nicephorus III. Botaneiates.

Around the year 1065, she married the later Hungarian king Géza I., after his first wife Sophie von Looz died after three years of marriage.

The couple had four children, the descendants of the eldest son Álmos after the death of the male descendants of the first marriage continued the line of the Hungarian kings.

King Géza died in 1077 and Queen Synadene survived him. About her life and her death date, however, nothing is known.
