Synapse films

Synapse films is a US-based DVD label which by Don May, Jr. is founded and operated. Co-founder and partner are Jerry Chandler and Charles Fiedler. The company was founded to present in perfect digital quality with the aim of horror movies and science fiction movies 1997.

So the main focus lies in the restoration and the video transfer of genre films that received only a very poor, or no, video analysis in the past. Don May, Jr. had in the past with his previous company Elite Entertainment - already collected a lot of experience in the field of restoration of films, Laser Disc releases of Elite Entertainment were considered to be the best in the horror field - he was only business partners. This experience comes to him and his company, of course, benefit from today.

The catalog of Synapse films ranges from EUR horror films, documentaries to Japanese exploitation films from the 1960s and 1970s.

Published in 2004, Synapse films the controversial thriller - a ruthless movie on DVD. However, the release of the film was no less controversial as the film itself, the notorious director Bo Arne Vibenius spread everywhere that Synapse films have the film of him simply stolen and wrote under an assumed name threatening letters, emails and faxes. 2002 bought Synapse films of Chrome entertainment worldwide distribution rights for $ 10,000.
