Synonym ring

Synset is derived from the English term of semantics, lexicography concrete. It involves the formation of semantic fields and fields of concepts, adding to a field, a " concept " summarizes (in terms of terminology ) one. Synonyms Add content indexing a synset corresponds to a synonym ring.

Distinctions

We distinguish lexical and conceptual ( conceptual ) relations (relations) within a synset.

Lexical relations

( a) the importance of identity or similarity of word meaning ( synonymy ),

( b) the Gegenteiligkeit of meaning ( antonyms ) and

( c ) etymological relations.

Conceptual relations

( a) the ratio of upper to lower terms ( Hyperonymie / hyponymy or Super ordination / subordination;

( b) the ratio of a portion of a whole ( meronymy / Holonymie );

( c ) the causal relationship ( cause and effect).
