Syrgenstein

Syrgenstein is a municipality in the Swabian district of Dillingen on the Danube and the office of the Management Community Syrgenstein.

Geography

Syrgenstein is in the northwest Bavarian- Swabia on the border of Baden- Württemberg. In the district of Staufen is the highest point in the district of Dillingen.

The municipality consists of the districts Syrgenstein, lodges and Staufen.

The municipality includes the villages of Syrgenstein Altenberg, Ballhausen, lodges and Staufen

History

The direct imperial barons of Syrgenstein shared since 1693, the country's sovereignty and the high court in the reign Syrgenstein with the Duchy of Neuburg. The council consists of 16 members. Since the local elections 2008 they relate to the following lists:

  • Free electoral association Landshausen: 4 seats
  • SPD / Independent Citizens: 3 seats
  • Community choice Staufen: 3 seats
  • Free electoral association Ballhausen: 1 seat
  • REP: 1 seat

Mayor since 1984 Bernd Steiner ( SPD / Independent citizens).

The municipal tax revenue amounted to the equivalent of € 1,887,000 in 1999, which amounted to the trade tax revenues ( net) converted € 411,000.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms description reads: Shared; top in silver, a black oblique bar which is covered with a golden eagle; divided down again, split up of red and silver, blue bottom, topped with a golden crenellated tower.

Economy and infrastructure

Economy, agriculture and forestry

It was in 1998 according to official statistics in manufacturing and 225 in trade and transport, no social insurance contributions at the workplace.
