Syriac Union Party (Syria)

The Syriac Union Party (English Syriac Union Party, Syrian- Aramaic ܓ ܒ ܐ ܕ ܚ ܘ ܝ ܕ ܐ ܣ ܘ ܪ ܝ ܝ ܐ ܒ ܣ ܘ ܪ ܝ ܐ, Arabic حزب الإتحاد السرياني في سورية ) is a political party in Syria, which represents the interests of the Assyrian / Aramean nation by its own account. The party was founded on 1 October 2005 and shall enter into force since the outbreak of the Syrian civil war as opposition to the Assad regime. The party is a member of the opposition coalition National Coordination Committee for Democratic Change. On August 15, 2012 members of the party broke into the Syrian embassy in Stockholm and devastated it in protest against the arrest of party members by the Syrian regime. A dozen members were subsequently arrested by the Swedish police. The Syriac Union Party, the militia Sutoro launched live control the Assyrian / Aramaic towns, neighborhoods and villages.
