Syro-hexaplar version

The Syrohexapla is the Syriac translation of the Greek text of the Old Testament according to the review of Origen in his Hexapla (5th column).

The Syrohexapla is according to the evidence of the colophons due to the work of the Syrian Orthodox Bishop Paul of Tella and its employees in the years 615/617. She is a faithful translation of the Greek text of the Bible books of the prophets and sacred writers in the fifth column of the Hexapla of Origen ( " Quinta " ) and even contains a lot of his text-critical character to mark the differences compared to the Hebrew Bible text to which it has, in most manuscripts the Greek Hexaplatextes missing. Therefore, it has great significance for the reconstruction of the Hexapla of Origen Septuagintatextes before and the distinction between the various other reviews.

Although the Syrohexapla was a work of the West Syrian Church, she enjoyed even among the adherents of the Assyrian Church of the East great reputation.
