Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Palai

The Diocese of Palai (Latin: Dioecesis Palaiensis ) is a diocese of the united with the Roman Catholic Church Syro - Malabar Church, based in Palai in India. It includes the Taluk Meenachil and some villages of the neighboring taluks in Kottayam in the Indian state of Kerala.

History

Pope Pius XII. founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Quo Ecclesiarum on 25 July 1950, cessions of territory of the Eparchy of Kottayam and was the Archdiocese of Ernakulam is a suffragan.

On July 29, 1956, became a part of the Ecclesiastical Province of Changanacherry archeparchy.
