Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Sagar

The Diocese of Sagar (Latin: Dioecesis Sagarensis ) is a diocese of the united with the Roman Catholic Church Syro - Malabar church in India. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Bhopal.

History

On July 29, 1968, the Apostolic Exarchate Sagar was built and Clement Thottungal, who belonged to the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate, was their Exarch. When the Exarchate in 1977 raised to the bishopric, Thottungal was bishop. In 1986, he was succeeded by his friar Joseph Pastor Neelankavil as a bishop.
