Syro-Malankara Catholic Archeparchy of Tiruvalla

The archeparchy Tiruvalla (Latin: Archieparchia Tiruvallensis ) is a location in the Syro- Malankara India archeparchy Catholic Church with headquarters in Tiruvalla ( Pathanamthitta district, Kerala ).

History

Pope Pius XI. founded the Eparchy of Tiruvalla with the Apostolic Constitution Christo pastorum Principi on June 11, 1932. On October 28, 1978, lost part of its territory to the Eparchy of Battery.

The eparchy was collected on 15 May 2006 archeparchy. More parts lost it on 15 January 2003 at the eparchy Muvattupuzha.

The Archdiocese of the Syro -Malankara collected only the Catholics of the area. The there is also resident Catholics of the Latin Rite and the Syro -Malabar rite belong to other dioceses.
