Syrov

Syrov ( German Syrow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. Lies 14 kilometers northwest of Humpolec and belongs to Okres Pelhřimov.

Geography

Syrov is located on the southern slope of the hill Vršek (500 m) creek in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands overlooking the valley of Martinický.

Neighboring towns are Hořice in the north, and Děkančice Hroznětice in the northeast, Senožaty to the southeast, and Nečice Číhovice in the south, Jiřičky the southwest, Onšov in the west and Kalná Hať, Šamplice, Chlovy and Dunice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village took place in 1352.
