Syslog-ng

Syslog -ng is a further development of syslog with the aim to fix known vulnerabilities.

Syslog -ng provides unified logging capabilities on a variety of platforms. This is important because the default is included in the operating system syslog programs differ in essential details, whereby the structure of a homogeneous logging system is difficult. By installing syslog- ng on all computers involved, this problem can be solved. This property is a great incentive for the use and distribution of the Program.

Syslog ng is used due to its wide spread of many other implementations syslog reference.

An alternative to syslog -ng is Rsyslog.
