Systematic theology

Systematic theology is a part of theology. Your task is, the (Christian) faith in his assumptions ( fundamental theology ), in his article of faith ( dogma ) and its consequences for human action ( theological ethics or moral theology and Christian social teaching ) to reflect systematically.

This is also the breakdown of systematic theology in subdisciplines, as is customary in Catholic theological faculties. In the Protestant tradition, a dichotomy in the reflection of word ( dogmatics ) and Tatzeugnissen ( Theological Ethics ) is rather made the Christian faith. The fundamental theology is regarded as prolegomenon to dogmatics.

Objective of systematic theology

Systematic theology sets itself the goal to reflect the common faith of Christians and to put into words. This is based on the belief that faith is not just an individual matter, but is taking place in the community of the Church. This formulated their faith also common, particularly in the Confessions. However, this prevents the individual Christian is not in it, but rather encourages them even to designate their individual priorities and perspectives and bring into the community of the Church. Thus systematic theology is about faith and the theology of the individual beyond.
