Szczawnica

Itself lies at a resort in the powiat Nowotarski in southern Poland with about 6,000 inhabitants.

Itself lies a well-known resort since the mid-19th century. Due to the growing there alkaline sorrel ( Rumex acetosa, Polish Szczaw zwyczajny its name to the place) and the favorable climatic conditions, many respiratory and digestive tract diseases are treated there. In 2005, the popular, local, over 200 years old spa was officially his pre-war owners through the Polish government - the Count Stadnický family - returned. His last private owner was Count Adam Stadnický whose grandson Andrzej Mańkowski is the founder of the new museum in the center Uzdrowiskowe Szczawnicas. The museum intends to more than 350 different exhibits, which are connected to the local agents, further archive material, drawings, blueprints, old photographs, postcards and books to present.

Szczawnica has many ski trails and ski slopes. The longest two kilometers of slopes at Palenica is accessed by a four-seat chair lift with a capacity of 2,200 people per hour. It is operated by a state agency.
