Szczypkowice

Szczypkowice ( German Zipkow, Kashubian Szczëpkòjce ) is a village in the municipality Główczyce in powiat Słupski the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship.

In the years 1975-1998 the city belonged to the Province of Slupsk.

Geographical location

Szczypkowice located in Pomerania, about 30 kilometers northeast of the city of Slupsk and 5.5 km south-southeast of the church village Główczyce.

History

The goods Zipkow (formerly also Ceppekevitze, Zepkewitz ) Dochow, Großendorf and Warbelin were in earlier times fief of Stojentin family. In 1469, the brothers Klaus and Lorenz Stojentin were invested with the half Ceppekeuitze. After the muster roll of 1523 had to ask for the purpose of national defense together five horses available Jurgen Stoientin to rantze ( Romtze, today Rumbske ) and Petern Stoientine to Zebbekevitze. In 1700 sold the creditors of the said goods Stojentins that at the time belonged to the goods conglomerate Rumbske, sometimes the grandfather and the father of some of the State Minister Otto Christoph Graf von Podewils ( 1719-1781 ). Through a comparison of the division September 12, 1831 came into possession of this Zipkow, Großendorf and Warbelin. After his death, the three estates were inherited by his only son, Friedrich Heinrich Graf von Podewils ( 1746-1804 ). Around the year 1784 there were in Zipkow a Vorwerk, ten farmers, six Kossäten, a blacksmith, a schoolmaster, on the field marks of the village a newly created Vorwerk with a sheep, a total of 29 households. At that time, is still spoken mainly in Kashubian Zipkow. The Podewils had Zipkow to 1796 in possession. 1804 is called on Zipkow, Giesebitz and Warbelin Friedrich von Blankensee († 1838). Before 1823 had the good Zipkow 260 inhabitants, and in the Zipkower sheep lived at the same nine other people. Once in a straight line Bernhard Blankensee († 1898) had taken possession of the successor, Zipkow came to his son, Louis Blankensee († 1902). The last owner of the manor was his widow, Elizabeth of Blankensee, born Gaudecker.

In 1925 were in Zipkow 46 residential buildings. In 1939 lived in Zipkow 386 inhabitants, which were distributed to 92 households.

Before 1945 Zipkow belonged to the district of Great village of the district Stolp in the administrative region of Pomerania Pomerania. The municipal area was 1,463 acres in size. In the community Zipkow there were a total of three Locations:

  • Settlement Friedrichshof
  • Zipkow

The estate had last a plant area of ​​966 hectares, of which 547 acres of farmland were. Besides the good there was in the community Zipkow 35 more farms. In the village there was an inn.

Towards the end of World War II Zipkow was occupied on March 9, 1945 by the Red Army. After the Soviet troops the Poles came and took over the houses and farmsteads. The German villagers have been displaced. Zipkow was renamed Szczypkowice.

In 2006 the village had 492 inhabitants Szczypkowice.

Church

The villagers before 1945 in Zipkow present were almost all Protestant. In 1825 Zipkow had fourteen inhabitants of Catholic denomination. Zipkow belonged to the parish Glowitz and thus to the church Stolp -Altstadt.

School

Before 1945 Zipkow had its own elementary school. In 1932 this school was in two stages; a single teacher taught here at this time into two classes 72 school children.

Traffic

About five kilometers north of the village of the province road runs 213 Slupsk - Krokowa.
