Szeben County

County Sibiu ( Hungarian Vármegye Szeben, Latin comitatus Cibinensis, Romanian Comitatul Sibiu) was a historic administrative unit ( county / county) in the Kingdom of Hungary in Transylvania.

Geography

It comprised with 88 municipalities ( 1881) an area of ​​about 3,600 km ², and bordered on the counties Hunyad, Unterweißburg ( Alsó Fehér ), wholesale Kokelburg ( Nagy- Küküllő ) Fogaras and the Kingdom of Romania. History

The county was created in the Hungarian Komitatsreform 1876 from the administrative regions of Sibiu chair of Muhlbacher chair of Reußmarkter chair and Lesch Kircher chair ( seven chairs) as well as small parts of the counties Oberweißburg and Unterweißburg and existed in this form until 1918 / 1920.
