Széchenyi Mansion

Széchenyi Castle in Nagycenk was built from 1741 in late baroque and neoclassical style and was the abode of István Széchenyi. This could modernize it 1834-1840 by the architect Ferdinand Ödenburger Hild. After severe damage to the end of the Second World War is only remains of the original interior design is essentially the classical staircase. The main gate of 1741-50 comes from Franz Anton Pilgram. After Reconstruction ( 1969-73 ), however, part of the building complex was used as a museum dedicated to the great reformers, the rest as a hotel and restaurant.
