Szilágy County

County Szilágy [ sila ː ɟ ] ( Vármegye Szilágy Hungarian, Romanian Comitatul Salaj ) was a former administrative unit ( county / county) in Royal Hungary.

Location

The county bordered on the north by the county of Satu Mare ( Szatmár ), on the west by Bihar, on the south by the county of Cluj ( Kolozs ) and to the east by Szolnok - Doboka.

History

For so-called Partium belonging, the county was created in 1876 in the course of administrative reform of Transylvania from the pre-existing counties Kraszna, Mittelsollnock and a part of the county Doboka (around Agrij / Felsőegregy ). The Treaty of Trianon was 1920 Romania slammed and consisted of a circular Salaj continue until 1960. Today it is largely in the Romanian county Salaj, smaller parts in the northwest part of the county Satu Mare and the North East for Maramureş County.
