Szklarka, Lower Silesian Voivodeship

Szklarka ( German glass village ) is a village in the south of the powiat Kłodzki in the Province of Lower Silesia in Poland. It belongs to the municipality Bystrzyca Kłodzka ( Habelschwerdt ), of which it is located five miles northwest.

Geography

Szklarka located in Glatzer boiler at the edge of Habelschwerdter Mountains. Through the town, the Voivodeship road 388 Bystrzyca Kłodzka Polanica -Zdrój runs. Neighboring towns are Gorzanów in the northeast, and Zabłocie Bystrzyca Kłodzka the southeast, Stara Bystrzyca in the south, and Wójtowice Zalesie in the southwest, west and Huta Stara Lomnica Szczawina as well as in the Northwest.

History

Glasdorf evolved from a 14th century glassworks. It was first mentioned in 1417 as Glesendorf and until 1507 was owned by the lords of Pannwitz on Rengersdorf. Ecclesiastical it belonged to the parish Altlomnitz. 1628 was purchased by Count Johann Arbogast of the Annenberg Altlomnitzer Mittelhof together with the associated villages Glasdorf and Sauerbrunn and combined them with his rule Arnsdorf. Through marriage reached the possessions in 1651 to Count Johann Friedrich von Herber stone. He trained the possessions of a Majoratsherrschaft, which also includes glass village belonged.

After the Silesian Wars Glasdorf coincided with the county of Glatz in 1763 with the Peace of Hubertusburg to Prussia. After the reorganization of Prussia belonged since 1815 to the province of Silesia and was first incorporated into the county of Glatz. 1818 was reclassified in the newly formed district Habelschwerdt to which it belonged until 1945. Since 1874 glass village belonged to the district of Altlomnitz, which consisted of the rural communities Altlomnitz, Neulomnitz, Aspenau, glass village, Grafenort, Melling, Neubatzdorf, Neuhain, Neuwilmsdorf and sour Brunn and four agricultural estates. 1939 counted 140 inhabitants.

As a result of World War II Glasdorf fell in 1945 as almost all of Silesia to Poland and was renamed Szklarka. The German population was expelled. The new inhabitants were partly displaced persons from eastern Poland. The number of inhabitants increased significantly from below. From 1945 Szklarka belonged to the powiat Bystrzycki, which was founded in 1975, as well as the competent until then Wrocław Voivodeship dissolved. 1975-1998 belonged to Szklarka Voivodeship Wałbrzych.
