Szob

Szob ( German Zopp an der Donau) is a Hungarian city on a small area Szob in Pest county. Covering an area of ​​17.97 km ² live 2944 inhabitants ( 2011).

The city lies on the north bank of the Danube River, directly at the northwest trending border with Slovakia. Through the town, the road No. 12, which runs east to Vac in the Danube valley. The 232.5 km long Ipoly, a left tributary of the Danube, flows near Szob as border river into the Danube. Szob lies on the railway line Bratislava -Budapest.

The Burgus Szob is a former Roman military camp.
