Szombierki Bytom

Szombierki Bytom ( officially Towarzystwo SPORTOWE Szombierki Bytom ) is a 1919 in Schomberg - today as Szombierki a district of Bytom, former Bytom - was established as a club Sportowy Poniatowski Polish football club. The biggest success of the club was the Polish Championship of 1980. These days, the association plays in Amateuerbereich. Overall Szombierki Bytom played 25 seasons in the Premier League and is still in 17th place of the Eternal table. Top scorer of the club is the eight-time National Player Jerzy Wilim the scorer in the Premier League between 1952-1970 and 1974 89 times.

History

The club was founded February 21, 1919 by members of the Polish community. In the first game in the spring of 1920 KS Polonia Bytom Poniatowski defeated the club 4-1. The following years he remained in the lower leagues.

After the Second World War, the club was now in Polish Upper Silesia occupied, as Robotniczy club Sportowy Szombierki ( "Workers Sports Club Szombierki " ) re-founded and played first time in 1949 in the first division, but increased after the second season there in 1950. In 1959 a relegation from the second division. In 1961 he was Wiederausfstieg and 1963 the club was again top notch. The second season concluded Szombierki from 1965 as runners-up. 1972 rose from Bytom Szombierki for a year.
