Szymon of Lipnica
Simon of Lipnica (* 1438 in Lipnica today Lipnica, Poland, † July 18, 1482 in Krakow, Poland) was a Catholic monk and saint.
Simon joined in 1457 the Friars of the Franciscan and worked as a successful preacher. He was also head of several Polish Franciscan monasteries. After the General Chapter of the Franciscans in Padua in 1478, where he himself took part, Simon undertook a pilgrimage to the Holy Land and to Rome.
His canonization took place in 2007 by Pope Benedict XVI. , After the beatification by Pope Innocent XI. 1685.
