T scale

The nominal size of T is the smallest available today nominal size in the model railway range, which is manufactured as standard. The standard gauge, with a model - 1435 mm case has a model track width of 2.9 mm and is colloquially known as a trace T ( T Gauge). The T stands for English 3 (mm) = three. The scale is 1:480, but was elected for the first Japanese produced Cape gauge trains 1:450.

Gauge

The previously offered Cape gauge railcar thus do not move on to scale model gauge. With the publication of the announced ICE3 in scale 1:480, however, the appropriate gauge is almost reached with a Regelspurzug.

History

2006 presented the Japanese manufacturer KK Eishindo from Osaka this new system at the Tokyo Toy Show. As of 2007, it went on sale in, triggering the Z scale by Marklin, the smallest standard model railway from. In 2009, the production of T -Gauge Railway to the company store was made in Hong Kong, KK Eishindo has since only the licensor of the models and patents. Production takes place in a separate manufacturing facility in nearby Hong Kong. In Japan, the United States, Britain, Australia and Germany, these exotic gauge has become established, with the main focus of sales is now on Europe. There are industrially so far Japanese models on the market, the ICE 3, modeled on the German Railways should appear in 2011. A British sales now also offers its own train as well as a brass kit of a diesel locomotive. Overall, the market is still very manageable. Even the accessories market knows only a few products and kits on the market. The model railroader needs to help with their own creations here more than in other nominal sizes.

Technology

Due to the small gauge of only 2.9 mm, the railcars are far too easily for safe driving. Magnetic wheels, this problem was solved, however, the web can thus theoretically go vertical. For the prototypical low-speed operation, allows the use of high speed controller from the accessories range, with the latest generation of engines shunting movements are then possible even. A digitization of the models is not yet done, but according to the manufacturer possible and for the future in planning.
