Ta Phraya District

Amphoe Ta Phraya ( Thai: อำเภอ ตาพระยา ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the north of the province of Sa Kaeo. The Sa Kaeo province is located in the eastern region of Thailand at the border to Cambodia.

Geography

Amphoe Ta Phraya is by following Amphoe limited (as seen from the south clockwise from ): Amphoe Khok Sung and the Watthana Nakhon of Sa Kaeo Province and Amphoe Non Din Daeng and Lahan Sai in the province of Buriram. To the east the province of Banteay Meanchey Cambodia is.

History

The area Ta Phraya was previously passed by dense jungle. He belonged at the time to Amphoe Aranyaprathet. Later, the forest was cleared in part to make room for farmland. As the settlement of the peasants grew, the government established in 1959 the sub-district ( King Amphoe ) Ta Phraya one. Ta Phraya in 1963 promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Ta Phraya is divided into five communities ( tambon), which further into 61 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

Ta Phraya ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ตาพระยา ) is also the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district. It consists of parts of the tambon Ta Phraya.

There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.

The missing numbers belong to tambon which now belong to the Amphoe Khok Sung.
