Taal (Batangas)

Taal is a Philippine municipality in the province of Batangas. It has 51 503 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ). The municipality is situated on the Balayan Bay. In the village there is the largest church building in the Philippines, the Basilica of St. Martin of Tours. In the municipality of Felipe Agoncillo (1859-1941) was born, who became known as the first diplomat of the first Philippine Republic.
