Taarstedt

Taarstedt (Danish: Torsted ) is a municipality in the district of Schleswig -Flensburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

Geography and transport

Taarstedt is located about 10 km northeast of Schleswig at the Loiter Au. To Taarstedt include the districts Scholderup and Westerakeby. Northwest runs the federal highway 201 from Schleswig to Kappeln.

History

Built in 1250 St Anne's Church is a stone church with a wooden bell tower.

Policy

Municipal council

Of the eleven seats in the municipal council, the CDU had since the municipal election 2008, five seats, the voter community KWT had four and the SPD two seats. In the local elections on May 26, 2013, the CDU received 42.7 percent of the vote and five seats. The KWT came to 31.5 percent and three seats. On the SPD accounted for 25.8 percent and also three seats. The turnout was 58.8 percent.

Mayor

For the election period 2013-2018 Peter Matthiesen (CDU ) was elected. He thus came to the office of Hans -Werner Berlau ( CDU).
