Table tennis at the 1988 Summer Paralympics
In the Summer Paralympics in Seoul in 1988 medals were awarded in a total of 37 competitions in table tennis. For women, there were ten and awarded 27 medals at the men. As before, open competitions were held at the Games in New York and Stoke Mandeville in 1980. The athletes competed in individual and team competitions, as well as in open competitions for medals.

Classes
The women played in the individual in classes 2, 3, 4, 6 TT and TT 7, as well as in an open competitions. There was also a competition (2-4), in which the classes are 2, 3 and 4 together. In the team competition was played in grades 2, 4 and 6 TT.
When the men were distinguished in individual classes 1A, 1A -4, 1B, 1C, 2, 3, 4, C5, C6, 2 TT, TT 3, TT 4, TT 5, 6 TT and TT 7 Even with the men was wearing an open-ended competitions. In classes 1A, 1B, 1C, 2, 3, 4, 2 TT, TT 5, 6 TT and TT 7 team competitions were held.
