Tabora (Region)

The Tabora Region is located in the western central highlands of Tanzania and has approximately 1.7 million inhabitants. The region has an area of ​​approximately 76,151 km ² (that is, about the size of Bavaria). The capital of the same Tabora has approximately 120,000 inhabitants.

Districts

The region is divided into six districts:

  • Urambo
  • Nzega
  • Igunga
  • Tabora Urban
  • Uyui
  • Sikonge

Economy

About 20,000 tons of tobacco are grown annually. The miombo woodland also allows the extraction of timber and charcoal, and honey and gum arabic.
