Alpine Swift ( T. melba )

Tachymarptis is a species of bird in the family of sailors ( Apodidae ). The two types of species of was separated from the genus Apus and is not accepted by all authors. The most important argument for the special status of this species is already embryonic pamprodactyle toe position, in which all four toes facing forward.

Description

In both types of these occur only in the Old World genus is very large ships, which have a high proportion of white plumage, especially on the bottom. The tail is forked comparatively short and clear. The wings are rather broad in comparison to the genus Apus and less pointed wing tips.
