The Tacoma Dome is a sports and entertainment arena in Tacoma in Washington state.

History

The construction of the Tacoma Dome was internationally tendered and awarded to the local AIA architects McGranahan and Messenger. Construction began on 1 July 1981, was opened to the Tacoma Dome on April 21, 1983. The Tacoma Dome is one of the world's biggest stadiums with a roof in wood construction. Total construction costs amounted to 44 million U.S. dollars.
