Tacora

Tacora is the name of the 5980 m high volcano mountain in northern Chile. It is situated in the Región de Tarapacá about 50 km north of the town of Putre.

It is located in close proximity to the mountain 's northern Chupiquiña in Peru, the peaks are about 5 miles apart. In the saddle between the two volcanic mountains there are sulfur mines. East of Tacora There are hot springs.

Tacora is also the name of a mountain farm village in Bolivia.
